CEO Counselors Identifies Major Shift in CEOs Opinions about the Value of Information Systems and Concerns about Security

Chief Executives have turned more pessimistic about the value they are getting from investments in information systems and technology. Their confidence in information security, alignment with business strategy and on-time delivery have declined markedly from 2003 to this year.

Tampa, FL and Chicago, IL (PRWEB) April 6, 2004 --CEO Counselors is half-way through collecting the 2004 survey data. Already, a major trend toward greater pessimism is surfacing. In addition to more pessimism, there are significant shifts in the areas of greatest concern. Terrorism and Disaster Recovery that were the area of greatest concern in 2003 are the least in 2004. Getting value from investments was the area CEOs were most confident about in 2003 and is among the least in 2004.

CEOs and Presidents who want to participate can do so by completing a survey at www.ceocounselors.com/Page7c.htm.

CEO Counselors performs an annual survey of Presidents and CEOs of US and International businesses with more than $50 million in revenue. After data collection, analysis and reporting, each participant receives a report comparing his data with the overall response.
Survey data is collected during March and April.

Summary survey results are posted at the CEO Counselors website and details are reported to the participants with a comparison between the responding company and the universe of respondents. The summary results will be used in academic training at several leading Universities at the graduate and undergraduate levels.

In 2003, CEO Counselors asked CEOs and Presidents of international businesses about their confidence that their organizations were spending the right amount of money on technology and information systems and nine other key issues in information systems. The questionnaire was expanded to 14 questions in 2004. In both years, a respondent could answer one additional question to identify his / her greatest area of concern.

The 2003 report is available at the CEO Counselors website and the 2004 report will be posted in May. CEO Counselors also incorporates the results in their service that provides advice to CEOs and arms chief executives to manage IS&T for competitive advantage.
