Using the FlashMap – Highlight option, the color of each state can be controlled separately from a text file. This text file can then in turn be linked with a database using Cold Fusion, ASP, or PHP. The color of each state will then change based on database queries. The background of each state can be changed independently from the overall color of the map to highlight store locations, display election results, demographics and so on.

Using the FlashMap –internalLink information can be displayed within the flash file requiring no additional pages. All information displayed is contained in text files which can easily be edited in Notepad without making any changes in flash. This text can include HTML tags such as email address, web address, and links to Map Quest or Yahoo Maps.

Using the FlashMap –directLink when clicked on, each state launches a new page. The HTML link is contained in a text file for easy editing. You can set up an HTML page for each state or you can have each state link to a dynamic page pulling information into a page from a database using PHP, ASP or Cold fusion.

Additional customization can be done to hook the map up with a database containing statistics or a survey. Not nation wide yet?
