Willimantic, CT (PRWEB) April 4, 2004 --Dennis Gorgoglione will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 20, at 16 Memorial Drive, in Willimantic, to organize the Citizens Committee for Moral Decency and Family Values. There is already a handful of concerned citizens who are interested. The purpose of the committee will be to work at the local level, as well as all other levels, to preserve and strengthen the family unit.

The committee will deal with a number of issues, including - but not limited to - same-sex marriage, pornography (including sex education), abortion, the boy scouts, religious freedom, and family political/economic sovereignty. Important features of the committees campaign will include the fight against Planned Parenthood, the promotion of a strengthened Defense of Marriage Act, and a two-step plan to: 1.)urge congress, in accordance with article 3: section 2: clause 2 of the U.S. Constitution, to pass the Marriage Protection Act, the Religious Liberties Restoration Act, and all other bills which would abolish the federal courts jurisdiction over these issues in particular and all non-federal issues in general, and; 2.)urge the legislature to invoke the 10th amendment, which guarantees state sovereignty, and defy the unconstitutional decisions of the courts.

The committee will cooperate with other organizations at the national, state and local levels. The committees tools will include educational materials, media campaigns, letter writing campaigns, and petition drives at all levels.

At the meeting, there will be some open discussion to determine the best ways to use these tools for the campaign and how to raise funds to get the committee incorporated.
