Conjux Networks launched today new product to help phone configuration.
COP (Conjux OMA Provisioning)- software will enable operators and service providers to provision their services for OMA (Open Mobile Alliance) compliant phones, for example to Nokia 6600.
(PRWEB) April 4, 2004 --COP-software reduces complexity of service provisioning and increases end-user's security. COP enable modular configuration management, which decreases and simplifies service provider's maintenance burden. The system runs in Unix or Linux OS and come with standard SMSC interfaces and with embedded, admin-free SQL-database.
"A complex settings are significant barrier for rapid penetration of value-added services. Its unrealistic assumption that subscribers will have motive and interest to learn GPRS, WAP, MMS and other acronyms, technology and required settings. Customers just want to take service in use; the COP can do this quickly and cost-effectively.? said Juha Kumpulainen, CEO of Conjux Networks.
Services which can be provisioned with COP includes:
- GPRS-data
- WAP browsing
- Picture Messaging (MMS)
- Calendar
- Email (POP and IMAP)
- Instant messaging and Presence (IMPS)
- Video (RTSP streaming)
- Push-to-talk
Service provider can feed basic information of new mobile service to the COP via web-page or using XML-file. System verifies the service- description validity, calculates checksums, authenticate server and provides interface to mobile network through SMSC.
Sending of settings can be initiated either by subscriber, operator or service re-seller. User can subscribe settings using SMS, WAP or web. Operator can initiate sending to individual or group of subscribers from admin interface. Re-seller can initiate sending to individual user from the point-of-sale interface.
Supported SMSC-protocols includes SMPP, UCP/EMI, CIMD, CIMD2 and OIS. System includes also interface for GSM modem, which can be used to deliver settings to mobile phones without SMSC connection; this make possible to start small capacity service cost-effectively.
COP-software has been in test use in operators in Europe and South America, in GSM-900, GSM-1800 and GSM-1900 networks. CDMA/TDMA support will be available at Q2/2004. Customer installations started at March.
Service provider and operators can test the COP-system in Conjux Networks' reference server before investment decision. Reference service is connected to Sonera's network in Finland, servise is available in all Sonera's roaming partners networks.
