(PRWEB) April 4, 2004 --Black Business Circle fashion show at the Annual Economic Empowerment Summit & Expo June 2004 set to be presented by 4W Circle of Art & Enterprise. 4W Circle is More than a unique boutique-style shopping experience-offering one-of-a-kind Afro-inspired designer fashions, art from around the world, hand-crafted jewelry, greeting cards, wedding accessories, a natural hair salon, a showcase for local artists, community space for programs celebrating African-American culture, and much more-the recently re-designed 4W Circle of Art & Enterprise is an incubator of dreams.
4W opened its doors in Ft. Greene, Brooklyn 1991. 4W Circle is the dream-realized of four African-American women - including it's current owner Selma Jackson - to contribute to the community by providing home-based African-American entrepreneurs, especially women, the opportunity to realize the dream of establishing their own retail stores. Over the past decade, scores of aspiring entrepreneurs have found a home, expertise and a supportive environment under the roof of 4W Circle's cooperative collective. An encouraging number have spread their wings and enriched the neighborhood by establishing their own business spaces.
4W Circle's mission of business empowerment comes naturally to the South Bronx-raised Ms. Jackson. She decided at the age of 15, after helping her father as a secretary and an accountant, that someday she would have her own business, just like both of her parents. Ms. Jackson's varied career path, which has included being a librarian, bank manager, environmental health specialist and curator, has been marked by a commitment to making a difference in her Brooklyn community.
Well-respected and much honored, Ms. Jackson has given back as a teacher, mentor, fundraiser, community, activist, volunteer, and active church member. The Black Business Circle will be presenting the 2004 Economic Empowerment Explosion Summit & Expo on June 12, 2004 at the Thomas Jefferson High School, which is located at 400 Pennsylvania Ave. in Brooklyn, New York. The conference will begin at 8:30 AM and end at 4:30 PM The Red Carpet Award Gala includes Community Economic Awards Ceremony, Entertainment, Talent Show Winner, Dinner & Networking. The Red Carpet Gala will begin at 5:30 PM and end at 7:30 PM. The conference free giveaways, continental breakfast, conference material, speakers, entertainment, discussion panel, workshops, press reception room, indoor sponsors, indoor vendors, exhibits, networking, and an awards gala. The Empowerment Summit & Expo will include 3 locations of outdoor events with free entertainment, outdoor vendors, DJs, MCs, R & B/Gospel Singers, Hip Hop, Dancers/steps, fashion designers, and models Non-profits, Faith Based Organizations, Community Business, Entrepreneurs, and Corporate Sponsors will be participating in the 2004 Economic Empowerment Summit & Expo.
