San Diego Artist Opens Gallery in La Jolla

San Diego watercolorist, Roni Sumer, opened her gallery in La Jolla. The gallery will feature watermedia works by the artist as well as other local and nationally know artists. Grand Opening receptions are scheduled for April 16th and 18th.

La Jolla, CA (PRWEB) April 4, 2004 -- After months of planning and work, the doors to Roni Sumer Watercolors Fine Art Gallery are open. Renovations to the 1300 square foot La Jolla gallery took over six weeks to complete "The process of opening was arduous as there were hundreds of details to decide on and a seemingly never ending list of problems to resolve" says San Diego based watercolorist and gallery owner Roni Sumer. "However, the result is spectacular and the gallery has the look I wanted, elegant yet fresh" she adds.

Sumer plans to commemorate the opening with two Grand Opening receptions. The first, an invitation only event, will be held April 16th. Invited guests consist of current and prospective collectors of Sumers art plus local and national dignitaries and celebrities. The event will be catered by neighboring Azul La Jolla restaurant and entertainment will be provided by classical guitarist Colin McAllister. The second reception, open to the public, will be held April 18th from 1-5pm. Refreshments will be served.

The gallery features Sumers watercolor and acrylic artworks. The gallery will also feature local and nationally known watermedia artists. "From a painting perspective the gallery is focused on watermedia. The La Jolla area has some of the finest galleries in the country but their works are primarily oil. We felt we could offer an alternative to collectors. From time to time we will have guest artists display their work to provide even more options. Later, we plan to round out our offering by including three dimensional works including sculpture and glass. And of course my ColorConductor Color Mix Organizer for artists will be available too." says Sumer. For the opening, guest artists include local artists Nancy Oleksa, Carole Patton, Nancy Cronin and Ren Daniels.

Sumer works daily from her new studio in the gallery. She can be reached by email at roni@RoniSumer.com or toll free at 1-866-ART-BYRS. Roni Sumer Watercolors Fine Art Gallery is located at 1250 Prospect Street (between Georges and Azul restaurants) in the heart of beautiful La Jolla. Sumers website www.RoniSumer.com lists directions and more information. The gallery is open daily from 11am to 9pm.
