(PRWEB) April 4, 2004 --A report on The WBs ANGEL viewership has revealed the secret demographic strength of the show: women. Over 60% of the series viewers are females, making up a crucial part of the networks target audience.
Further, the report discloses that 79% are in the much-sought-after 12 to 34 year old bracket; and nearly 47% of the audience are women in that age range.
ANGEL matches precisely what [The WBs Co-CEO] Jordan Levin wants for ideal viewers," said Simon Fleischmann, coordinator of Save ANGEL. We cant help but wonder why he wouldnt prefer to hold onto an established audience for a show with sustained ratings strength, rather than potentially lose them by experimenting with unproven series."
A recent examination of this season's Nielsen numbers by TheFutonCritic.com determined that unlike nearly all other WB series, ANGEL's audience has actually grown in its new time slot, by 8.44%.
Produced by Save ANGEL, the viewership report is based on nearly 10,600 entries from Americans, made as part of a petition-survey running on the site since February 18. The survey aggregates voluntarily submitted age, location and gender of fans around the world. People from over 80 countries have signed into the effort, leaving messages of support for the show and admiration for its cast and crew.
The breadth of the participants is in stark contrast to the Nielsen Media Research small sample size. An analysis of Nielsen National households by Save ANGEL showed that fewer than 130 homes represent the entire demographic picture of the ANGEL audience. While the US report is the most comprehensive, additional aggregated summaries have been produced of viewers in Canada, Australia and the UK.
The reports are available immediate in PDF format at www.SaveANGEL.org. The printed petition containing a hardcopy version of the report along with summary and analysis will be made available to The WB by the end of the week.
