Come On!... For the Forests of the Future!

With the swift moving pace of modern technology, the Print-On-Demand method of publication has emerged to sweep the Publishing Industry into the 21st Century on the winds of change that must come to all progressing industries throughout the world.

(PRWEB) April 4, 2004 --Print-On-Demand publication is the living breath of fresh air to the environment, to the forests of the future, which up until now have needed to supply the ever-increasing Publishing Industry with a seemingly endless supply of natural resources it takes for major publishers to mass produce thousands upon thousands of books with new releases.

It is time for the Publishing Industry to embrace this new technology and do away with "remainders" of books from massive print runs, for the sake of the environment, and future generations who will inhabit this earth long after the pages of history have been written.

The digital process known as POD, of storing information, which will produce a completely printed, bound, cut and covered book, in less time than it takes the consumer to order a cup of coffee and drink it, is revolutionizing publication for the future. And from its inception Print-On-Demand has needed to withstand the brunt of unfair criticism, over the less than high standard of digital offerings some small publishers have presented before this new and innovative technology.

It's time the Publishing Industry, as a whole, began casting its indifferent attitude aside and started embracing this "new and exciting" Print-On-Demand technology, instead of huffing and puffing like old steam engines from the past. Those days are gone, just as old methods of publishing should be placed on the table and taken a long hard look at.

It is also time for Print-On-Demand distributors, such as Ingram's Lightning Source, Ltd. to set higher standards before publishers for the use of this digital technology. It is time to start turning away digital files that are of a less than acceptable standard, so that the Print-On-Demand method of publication can lift on the wings of change where it truly belongs.

Come On!... For the Forests of the Future... For generations yet to come.
