Novelist Klim Admits Attraction to Fire

Cult novelist Christopher Klim wins early raves for latest novel and stunning portrayal of a serial arsonist in Everything Burns, the product of a many year fascination with fire.

(PRWEB) April 6, 2004 --Cult novelist Christopher Klim, author of the acclaimed novel Jesus Lives in Trenton, is garnering terrific early praise for his follow-up Everything Burns (Hopewell Publications, March 2004).

Absorbing Read," claims Booklist. Grabs readers with a solid plot, a unique motive for the killer."

Everything Burns is the product of years of research into the rare compulsive disorder of pyromania. Klim draws on experience as a photojournalist for the book.

Ive spent nights sifting through the ashes with fire investigators and executing hours of interviews with psychologists," Klim revealed in a recent interview. What was repellant at first became intriguing, my own compulsion. Whenever I visited a new city, Id scan the newspapers for recent fires. Id stop at city blazes and ask questions. Id wonder if this fire was an accident or intentionally set. Its not always obvious."

His fascination has apparently paid off. Circle Magazine claims, Its better than its illustrious predecessor. ... the bullet train of his prose is even slicker and sexier." BookCrazy Radio says, Klim employs the same engaging combination of wisecracking characters and dramatic action as seen on MASH and NYPD Blue."

Writing itself is an obsession," Klim says, and writing about arsonists became my passion. Pyromania is a slow building compulsion, often passing through addictions to gambling, drinking, and even animal torture in youth."

Klim is known for his engaging lectures and spirited readings on tour. He is also the Senior Editor of Writers Notes Magazine, which is just launched in April and already being compared to the early days of the Paris Review.
