The impact of this myth is intended to create unnecessary delays in issuing valid alert information or to throttle the number of amber alerts issued. Resulting in failed response by all to assist in an emergency event. Additionally results in hiding the sheer volume of missing cases that exist today. Failure to respond rapidly and timely results in fewer children returning alive.

Current Amber Alert information formats allows for real time updating and to add additional information whenever needed.
