Cirque du Soleil In Partnership with Dreams Can Be Foundation Benefit Fundraiser-A Night of Spectacular Entertainment to Make Dreams Come True for Brazils Impoverished Youth

Dreams Can Be Foundations announces the 3rd annual event in partnership with Cirque du Soleil. All proceeds from the event will go to programs and projects that support street children and impoverished youth in Brazil. This year's Cirque du Soleil benefit presentation of 'Alegrķa' will be held at New York City's Randalls Island, May 18th & June 16th, 2004 at 7PM

(PRWEB) April 6, 2004 -- Cirque du Soleil and Dreams Can Be Foundation are once again partnering to bring you a night of magical wonder under the Cirque du Soleil Grand Chapiteau. This years performance of 'Alegrķa' from Cirque du Soleil will be staged at NYCs Randalls Island Park under the blue-and-yellow Grand Chapiteau, a state of the art big top. Featuring performers from 16 countries, 'Alegria' is a thrilling expression of acrobatic artistry; technical expertise, extravagant design and exceptional musical inspiration.

Alegrķa is a mood, a state of mind. The name means "jubilation" in Spanish. Power and the handing down of power over time, the evolution from ancient monarchies to modern democracies, old age, youth-it is against this backdrop that the characters of 'Alegrķa' play out their lives. Kings' fools, minstrels, beggars, old aristocrats and children make up its universe, along with the clowns, who alone are able to resist the passing of time and the social transformations that accompany it.

This years benefit hosted by Dreams Can Be Foundation will feature Cirques TAPIS ROUGE VIP Experience. The $250 Benefit ticket includes preferred seating and access to the specially designed 'Alegrķa' VIP suite via an exclusive entrance one hour before the 8PM show where guests will be treated to an array of gourmet hors doeuvres and refreshments, followed by desserts during intermission, a special Cirque du Soleil CD, a souvenir program and free reserved parking or NY Waterway ferry pass. Guests will also enjoy priority purchasing of merchandise in the 'Alegrķa' boutique.

"Cirque du Soleil generously donated 330 tickets to Dreams Can Be Foundation to help our fund-raising efforts, allowing us to carry out our mission and aiding many thousands of needy children in programs that we support throughout Brazil." said Lisa Urgo Founder & President of the organization.
