GizmoLab Announces Design Intuition(r) Version 1.1 and Launches Woodworking Design Contest

New version sports user interface upgrade, and monthly contest for creative woodworkers and cabinet makers awards free upgrade to winners.

BOULDER CREEK, CA (PRWEB) April 9, 2004 --- GizmoLab today announced the 1.1 release of its Design Intuition computer-aided design software for Apple Macintosh OSX. Design Intuition makes it possible for the average craftsperson or independent woodworker to produce construction-quality blueprints in minutes. At the same time it announced a new woodworking contest that gives purchasers of Design Intuition an opportunity to win a free license upgrade.

Our customers are a vocal lot," said Jonathon Sand, CEO and Chief Software Architect for GizmoLab. They not only love Design Intuition, but they routinely come up with great suggestions for improving it. This is all about giving our customers what they need." GizmoLabs Design Intuition retails for $134.97.

Designed for Simplicity and Immediacy
Design Intuition was created by a professional woodworker for professional woodworkers and craftspeople," said Michael Knowles, Vice-President of Corporate Communications at GizmoLab. Jonathon has create a new set of tools and simplified the user interface considerably."

Fast Design Made Possible with Smart Objects
To simplify and speed up project creation, Design Intuition is equipped with a library of Smart Objects. Smart Objects consist of panels, standard lumber pieces, cabinet carcasses," and a variety of other items used in woodworking. Users drag Smart Objects from the Smart Objects library and then size them for the project. Smart Objects take the tedium out of design.

GizmoLab adds to the Smart Objects library monthly, often based upon customer requests.

3D Inside and Out
Draw it once, and you've drawn it in all views. Make an adjustment in one view, and it's made in all views. Isn't that what you'd expect a design program to do?" Sand said. Because Design Intuition uses OpenGL software, users can view their designs in 3D to see what the finished product will look like.

The Design Intuition Contest
We wanted to give users a chance to show off their woodworking design skills," Knowles said. What better way to do that than in a contest format?" Each month, Gizmolabs selects one or more contest winners and awards the winning designer(s) with an upgrade of their existing license by one major version.
