Coffee Book Author Raises Money for Stroke Victim Publicist - The book, "Cappuccino Cocktails" is being sold for Susan's Fundraising for $20. 100% of the total sales proceeds from 150 donated books had been offered and from that more than $800 in funds has been raised to date.
Tempe, AZ; Calgary Alberta, Canada (PRWEB) April 9, 2004 -- Coffee Book Author Raises Money for Stroke Victim Friend Author and Publicist Both Share the Same Name: Susan Z.A year ago, Canadian's Susan Zimmer and her husband, Bob Morisset, were traveling in Phoenix. Out of curiosity, she decided to check out the Phoenix publishing scene and in the yellow pages, she discovered a listing for Susan Z Communications.
With the coincidence that she is also known as "Susan Z," Susan felt compelled to contact the company.
From that call, an immediate meeting was arranged between Susan Zimmer, the coffee-book author from Canada, and Susan Zeloznicki, the writer/publicist/public relations professional of the Tempe-based Susan Z Communications. That meeting forever changed the lives of the two Susan Z's.
"It was a synchronized blessing. Working together with Susan Z, for my coffee book was a 'magic carpet ride' for which I will always be grateful," said Zimmer.
Thanks to Zeloznicki's publicity, Zimmer's book received thousands of dollars in media attention with coffee book sales increasing and plans for more national publicity slated.
Then, the unfortunate occurred. Last December, while at her desk communicating with clients and media, the 50-year-old Zeloznicki suffered a stroke which proceeded to multiple strokes. It was quite a blow to the always vibrant Zeloznicki and everyone who knew her. Three months, and two extensive brain surgeries later, Zeloznicki has been diagnosed with irrevocable brain damage. The effects include the inability to recognize others, the loss of reading and writing abilities, and reduced ability to care for herself.
From this sudden and tragic turn of Zeloznicki's health condition, the other Susan Z, Susan Zimmer, has responded in a generous way. She has offered the very coffee books that brought them together, as a way to raise much needed funds for Zeloznicki's medical and living expenses.
The book, titled, "Cappuccino Cocktails" published by ESP Publishing, is being sold for Susan's Fundraising for $20. 100% of the total sales proceeds from 150 donated books had been offered and from that more than $800 in funds has been raised to date.
Anyone interested in purchasing the remaining fundraising books can contact Zimmer by e-mail at info@CappuccinoCocktails.com or you may contact her literary agent, Wendy Keller, toll-free at 866-629-7483.
As Keller noted, Were here to offer our full support to Susans fundraising efforts and our thoughts and prayers are with Susan Zeloznicki."
And Zimmer is doing even more than fundraising for her Susan Z friend. Their friendship has inspired another book titled "Angels in My Latte."
"I was stirred by how Susan's goodness has been working through people in an 'angel e-mail network.' These people have come together to support Susan and her partner, Paul, during a very difficult time," said Zimmer. "It made such an impact on me that I'm publishing these acts-of-kindness stories and I invite people everywhere to share their stories for possible publication in this new book."
You can submit your story by e-mail to angels@CappuccinoCocktails.com.
Only time and healing will determine how the Susan Z story goes, but thanks to the gratitude of a friend, it will continue.
Footnote- March 2004.
Special friends: Friends of Susan Z Communications owner Susan Zeloznicki, raised an estimated $1,300 at a two-day yard sale to help pay medical expenses. They are also promoting sales of a coffee table book, Cappuccino Cocktails - Specialty Coffee Recipes . . . and A-Whole-Lattemore, to benefit Zeloznicki.
