Independent Film Award Winner The Five Stages Of Beer" Returns To Southern California.

"The Five Stages of Beer" is an official selection of the Newport Beach Film Festival and screens on April 19th at 5:30 pm. A majority of the post production was done in Newport Beach. Director Brian Mix will attend the screening.

The Five Stages of Beer is a truly independent film, shot on location in just over a week, with what director Brian Mix describes as a micro-budget." The Five Stages of Beer chronicles the romantic trials and tribulations of Dennis, a man trying to get back on his feet after his wife leaves him for a clown...literally! With the help of his best friend Mick and the patrons of his local watering hole, Dennis embarks on what is sometimes a disastrous, but in the end telling, foray into the dating scene and life itself.

The Newport Beach Film Festival showcases World and U.S. premieres, Academy Award entries, Sundance Selections, a Spotlight Series, and Children's Festival, from both the independent and studio worlds. With submissions from Asia, Europe, South/Central America and Africa, classic and contemporary filmmaking will provide a unique mix of genre and culture.

The Newport Beach Film Festival will run April 15 through 25, 2004. The Five Stage of Beer will screen at 5:30 pm on Monday, April 19, at the Lido Theater, 5459 Via Lido, in Newport Beach, CA.
