Kevin Smith Show to Re-Broadcast Hoagland
Controversial author and lecturer on space science Richard Hoagland recently appeared on the Kevin Smith Show amid a swirling controversy generated by editorialist Roy Britt. During the show Hoagland revealed for the first time his view of NASA's future.
(PRWEB) April 10, 2004 --Author, lecturer and space researcher Richard C. Hoagland appeared as a guest on the Kevin Smith Show amid swirling controversy about his latest claims about Mars. When Hoagland posted a NASA photo of what he called a fossil candidate" on his web site along with an article about NASA instructing the Mars rover Spirit to grind the fossil candidate" to dust, Roy Britt unleashed an editorial attack launched from space.com.
After Britts editorial had been picked up by CNN, MSNBC.com, and other major media, the Kevin Smith Show decided to ask Richard Hoagland to be a guest on the show and make his case. Hoagland accepted and the nearly two-hour interview was broadcast on April 9th and 10th.
Hoagland thinks outside the box and that makes establishment scientists nervous," says Kevin Smith, founder and host of the show. According to Smith, establishment scientists" have been wrong on virtually every theory they have backed since the time of Copernicus and have engaged in suppression of real scientific knowledge.
Broadcasting from the shows home in Phoenix, Arizona Smith said, Just consider that they persecuted Copernicus for revealing the Earth is in orbit about the Sun along with the other planets. They told us, up until 1995, that our solar system was unique in that no other stars had planets in orbit about them-we now know of 105 stars with planets in orbit around them. They said the speed of light is a constant and we now know that is not the case. One after the other, establishment scientific theories have been biting the dust. Someone like Hoagland is a threat to their continued book sales."
Smith says the Hoagland interview will be re-broadcast next weekend because he thinks that like Copernicus, Hoaglands unconventional thinking challenges the status quo scientists to prove up or shut up. Hoagland may, indeed, be dead wrong in his Mars theories but personal attacks like the Britt editorial literally scream that he is right and that the establishment is running scared." Hoagland is an important factor in NASAs public support since his site, enterprisemission.com, has between 5 million to 10 million visitors per month.
The Hoagland interview re-broadcast can be heard at http://kevinsmithshow.com on April 17 and 18. It will be available in both RealAudio and Windows Media formats, and is free for all to enjoy.
