British Director's Italian Indie short films due to screen at international festival

The Italian language short films of Anglo-Iranian Filmmaker, Daniel Mark Miller are due to screen at the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in NYC.

(PRWEB) April 10, 2004 --The Italian language short films of Anglo-Iranian Filmmaker, Daniel Mark Miller are making headway in international festivals.

The Happy Temple" (Il Tempio della Felicità") is a black comedy in which Darios attempted suicide is interrupted by a wrong number hoping to order a Chinese takeaway. The film stars noted Italian theatre actor, Francesco Cutrupi as Dario and Neapolitan stand up comedian, Gianluca Cesale" as Fulvio the wrong number. The film is due to premier at the New York Film and Videeo Festival on April 26th in NYC.

Damned If I Do..." (Che Io Sia Dannato Se...") is a comic reworking of the Faust myth: Marco, flatly rejected by the woman he loves meets the Devil at the cross roads who kindly offers to resolve Marcos problems for the usual price of his immortal soul. The films stars Francesco Cutrupi as Marco, director Domenico Miriello as Lucifer and dancer, Clara Sprizzi as Lisa - the object of Marcos love.

Damned if I Do..." Was shown in an earlier cut at Cafè Corto in Rome last year and in its present form at Romes LInvasione degli Ultracorti (Invasion of the Ultrashorts)where it was well received by audience and critics alike.

The films were produced with an Italian cast and a tiny crew from Italy, France, the US and Britain on largely borrowed equipment exploiting friends houses and the restaurant, Spaccanapoli" as well as the back streets of Rome as locations.

Daniel was born in London where he studied audio-visual production, produced his first short film and worked on numerous indie productions and pop promos. He moved to Rome early last year and has since produced two short films.

Francesco Cutrupi is currently starring in Fratelli di Italia" at the Teatro dellOrologio in Rome.
