Euroquartz Group brings filters division and crystal manufacturing under one roof

(PRWEB) April 10, 2004 --Frequency products specialist, Euroquartz Group has moved its filters division from its original Southampton location and brought it under the same roof as the company's quartz crystal manufacturing facility in Crewkerne, Somerset.
Euroquartz Filters specialises in the design and manufacture of custom electronic filters for defence, telecommunications and related applications. The company had been based in Southampton for many years but has now been moved into the group's manufacturing headquarters in Somerset in order to streamline activities.
Andy Treble, Euroquartz's sales and marketing director, commented, "By bringing the filters division under the same roof as our crystals manufacturing facility, we will be able to provide customers with a superior service in future. The filters division will have immediate access to all the facilities here at Crewkerne including prototype crystal production and automated test capabilities. This will result in a streamlining of services for our filters customers. Many of our crystals customers will also benefit from the additional skills and facilities brought by the filters division."
Euroquartz Filters is a separate company within the Euroquartz Group and facilities include computer-aided design (CAD) using the company's own analysis and synthesis software, precision coil winding, assembly, component and environmental measurements and performance analysis using level-measurement sets.
Each filter is designed and built to perform to customers' requirements for electrical characteristics, reliability and resistance to hostile environments. Euroquartz Filters' production process is geared to the manufacture of single units or small batches and the majority of products are hand-assembled to ensure maximum flexibility and to avoid expensive and time-consuming tooling set-up.
Typical examples of custom filters produced include: a 21.4MHz, 8-pole wide band crystal filter with 120kHz bandwidth for satellite monitoring applications; a 19.975MHz crystal filter exhibiting excellent group delay parameters designed for data transmission applications; a 19.85MHz miniature discrete crystal filter designed and manufactured in a very small package; and a 174MHz crystal filter produced in a low profile package.
Euroquartz Filters' CAD programs enable compact passive circuits to be designed using standard components wherever practicable. Many non-standard components can be manufactured in-house to exacting specifications. Combined with the use of skilled manual assembly rather than expensive automatic procedures, this ensures that small quantities of custom-built circuits can be produced to the highest quality standards at the lowest possible cost.
As all Euroquartz Filters' circuits and the majority of specialised components are manufactured in-house, there are no time-consuming delays due to dependence on external suppliers.
With annual turnover of 3.5million and a current growth rate of 12.5% per annum, Euroquartz group provides major OEMs with a global manufacturing and supply facility for all types of quartz crystals, oscillators, filters and frequency control products.
