KUA Wins 5 International Awards

Kissimmee Utility Authority is one of only two electric utilities in the U.S. to be honored with twin Crystal Awards of Excellence in this year's international Communicator Awards.

KISSIMMEE, FL (PRWEB) April 11, 2004 --Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) is one of only two electric utilities in the U.S. to be honored with twin Crystal Awards of Excellence in this year's international Communicator Awards. In addition to the Crystal Awards, KUA was honored with three Awards of Distinction.
    
The Communicator Awards is an international awards program that honors excellence in printed communications. Entries are judged by communications professionals who look for companies and individuals whose work meets a high standard of excellence and serves as a benchmark for the industry. There were 3,743 entries received from throughout the United States and several foreign countries in this year's competition.
    
The Crystal Awards of Excellence honored KUA's 2002 and 2003 annual financial reports. In addition, an Award of Distinction was presented to the utility for the electrical outlet cover design of its 2003 annual report.
    
Awards of Distinction also honored KUA's monthly employee newsletter, Power Line, and its website design for the Orlando Area Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association.
    
The other multiple Crystal Award winner was Energy Northwest, based in Richland, Washington. Other notable winners included American Medical Association, Costco Wholesale, Federal Aviation Administration, Hewlett Packard, Hilton Hotels Corporation, Mayo Clinic, NASA, Nextel Communications and Princeton University.
    
KUA has earned 149 local, state, national and international communication awards for public relations programs, events and publications since 1995.
    
Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida's sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric, water, and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
