Singer/Songwriters Leave NYC Behind for Whirlwind New England Tour:
Allison Tartalia and Elisa Peimer Join Forces for Area Debut
Elisa Peimer and Allison Tartalia hit the New England music scene head-on starting Thursday, April 15, performing in New Haven, Amherst, South Hadley and Chelmsford.
New York, NY (PRWEB) April 12, 2004 --With memories of the citys concrete jungle happily behind them, New York singer/songwriters Elisa Peimer and Allison Tartalia hit the New England music scene head-on starting Thursday, April 15 at 10 pm. The two solo artists will make their area debuts at New Havens Café Nine, on 250 State Street. After their Connecticut jaunt, the pair will spend the rest of the weekend in Massachusetts, stopping in Amherst, South Hadley and Chelmsford. (Tour itinerary is below.)
Though they perform separately back home, the enterprising indie chicks decided to share tour duties for their first musical trip up north. Allison and I have a very similar musical sensibility -- we both play pop music influenced by other genres," says Elisa. Mine might be more folk and hers more jazz, but they both come down to catchy songs and intimate lyrics."
Both artists have been lauded by New York fans and press alike for their energetic live shows. After being dubbed a singer with a sultry voice" by the New York Times, Allison and her album Ready won top honors at the 2003 Outmusic Awards for Best Female Debut. Songs from the nationally distributed album made her a hit at festivals like TourBaby and Cincinnatis Chicks Rock Fest. Village Voice reviewer Chuck Eddy praised Allisons heart and jazzy style, which he called smack dab in the Laura Nyro/Ricki Lee Jones/Sophie B. Hawkins lineage." Songs from Ready will also appear on the Music for Life CD, benefiting the American Cancer Society's southeast division.
Elisas third album Transparent recently hit record stores, and already her video for the single Angel Of The Blues" has been broadcast on the CBS jumbo screen in the heart of Times Square. Her latest album, co-produced by John Kurgan, whose credits include work with Sting, Stanley Clarke and Stewart Copeland, was also a featured pop pick on Amazon.com. Billboard Magazine praised her songs as truly gorgeous" and her music has appeared in the September 11th documentary Voices of Inspiration and on the breast cancer benefit CD Its About Eve.
Both Ready and Transparent are available for purchase at CDBaby.com, Amazon.com and at their live shows. Further artist details can be found on each singers website: www.allisontartalia.com and www.elisapeimer.com.
