(PRWEB) April 15, 2004 -- South Of the Navy Yard Artists, Inc aka SONYA a not for profit artist for artist organization is celebrating 5 years of World Art in Brooklyn NY.
In conjunction with the SONYA Open Studio Stroll on Saturday and Sunday, May 15th - 16th from noon - 6PM which will be in the neighborhoods of Fort Greene, Clinton Hill and parts of Bedford- Stuyvesant in Brooklyn New York, SONYA is having a JAMfest.

This year we are celebrating with the first SONYA JAMfest. 5 Years, 5 bands at The Five Spot in Clinton Hill on May 15th from 7PM - Midnight. The 5 bands are all fantastic indie bands with Brooklyn roots. The bands scheduled to perform are Antje (Acoustic Rock), Eric DeArmon & the Truthseekers (Piano rock and Blues), Napier & Jeudy (Soul & Rock), The Cal Payne Project (Fusion of Jazz & R&B) and MindThirst (Alternative Music). This JAMfest is to Highlight the true talent that these Brooklyn communities foster. SONYA will also be producing a CD of all the bands with the artwork of SONYA. This CD will be an Enhanced CD and it will be available for sale to help raise funds for the art organization.
The South Of the Navy Yard Artists, Inc. (SONYA) community includes visual artists whose studios or galleries are located within the boundaries of Flatbush Ave., Atlantic Ave., Bedford Ave., and Flushing Ave in Brooklyn, NY. Currently, more than 70 artists are registered with SONYA. This exhibition fulfills one of SONYAs missions -- to develop opportunities for SONYA artists to show their work.
