Boston boutique publisher Arriviste Press announces a book signing party with author Will Leitch at Lucky's Lounge. In addition to the reading, Arriviste Press and Lucky's will provide a complimentary dinner buffet, drink specials, and music from deejay Craig Kapilow -- music editor at the Weekly Dig.

Arriviste Press, Inc., publisher of Life As a Loser, the internationally acclaimed debut by author Will Leitch, announces Loser’s Lounge Boston at Lucky’s Lounge on May 8th.

The Loser’s Lounge series combines readings from Leitch with special-guest deejays and a variety of food and drink specials at popular urban nightspots in select cities nationwide. The Boston event includes a complimentary dinner buffet, a variety of drink giveaways, and music provided by Craig Kapilow, music editor for Boston’s Weekly Dig alternative news weekly.

“We wanted to do something a little more fun and interactive than the typical library or bookstore reading,” said R A Miller, Arriviste’s managing editor, “so we figured we’d combine the author reading and meet-and-greet session with two other things people in our target demographic enjoy: good music and stiff drinks. Alternative music plays a leading role in many of Will’s stories, and he’s not the type of author who shies away from his fans – especially when drinking.”

Arriviste Press initiated the Loser’s Lounge in Chicago in March. Feedback was so positive that the publisher now has planned several more dates in U.S. cities during 2004: Boston on May 8th, and Boulder and San Francisco to be announced. Details for the Boston event are as follows:

Where: Lucky’s Lounge, 355 Congress St.

When: Saturday, May 8th; 7-9 p.m.

What: Reading, book signing, free food and drinks, and killer alternative music

Cost: $15 online; $20 at the door
