Darim Introduces Video Spider Broadcast Archiving Solution
Video Spider Logging Opens World of Opportunity in Video Archiving, Viewing, and Retrieving
Las Vegas, NV (PRWEB) April 21, 2004 -- Darim Vision (www.darim.com), a leading provider of integrated MPEG Encoding, Streaming, Broadcasting, and Security solutions, announced today that their VideoSpider video recording and playback servers now offer the ability to log all the information being transmitted on all the channels. The feature packed VideoSpider offers broadcasters and surveillance technicians unattended long term recording of broadcast material as well as the ability to search and playback video segments remotely from any location over the Internet. The VideoSpider will be demonstrated at Darims booth #SL1066 in the lower level of the South Hall at the National Association of Broadcasters in Las Vegas, April 19-22, 2004. Private screenings are also available in limited numbers in Darims meeting room SL2542-MR in the South Hall by appointment only. Contact Ramin Ekhtiar at ramin@bluepointworld.com or (209) 613-1285 to set-up a screening.
The VideoSpider is an expandable server client that was designed for large scale networks and features powerful interactive channel monitoring from any Internet connection in the world. Additionally, multiple clients can log on and access up to 16 individually controlled channels and can store the material locally or on to remote storage devices. With the new VideoSpider, video can be recorded in a variety of resolutions from CIF to D1 utilizing high quality MPEG 4 compression technology. Utilizing the VideoSpiders built in storage, ten days of full broadcast D1 resolution recordings of 16 channels 24 hours a day, seven days a week can be archived. If using a lower resolution like CIF, up to 40 days of material can be recorded.
Unlike conventional closed circuit television or digital video recording systems, video monitoring with the VideoSpider is done remotely using local or wide area networks or through Internet. The VideoSpiders servers are capable of streaming live or recorded MPEG 4 video data to multiple remote destinations without interruption of their primary mission -- recording. Finally, client systems can be placed practically anywhere that is within the reach of the network (wired or wireless) to perform remote video monitoring, playback, server, and storage management.
We are truly excited in the limitless possibilities that the VideoSpider brings to the table -- storage can now be centralized or distributed among any locations to provide a virtually unlimited recording capacity," said John Houston, vice-president of marketing at Darim. Our distributed and easily expandable architecture enables customers to implement their archiving projects over the entire enterprise for a truly global archiving system. No longer is the physical location or distance to any particular video source an issue or limiting factor.
