Framingham, MA (PRWEB) April 18, 2004 --Nance Guilmartin will lead a discussion on May 5 about how to talk to someone who is facing a difficult experience such as illness or death, and will sign copies of her book Healing Conversations: What to Say When You Don't Know What to Say. Participants are invited to share their own experiences of comforting or caring for the sick or dying.
Guilmartin--who is also a business consultant and award-winning broadcast journalist--will help celebrate the 4th anniversary of Healing Partners, an interfaith community effort supporting those in professional and pastoral care for the elderly and the sick. Healing Partners is a program of Jewish Family Service of Metrowest, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year.
The MetroWest Medical Center is generously hosting the May 5 event and providing refreshments. The discussion will be held at 7 p.m. at the hospital's MacPherson Hall, 85 Lincoln St., in Framingham.
Malka Young, LICSW, director of Healing Partners, will answer questions about the event and take RSVPs. Young was a guest speaker in March on the role of community agencies at an interdisciplinary gerontology course at Harvard Medical School, and represented Healing Partners in December in the San Francisco Bay Area at the 13th anniversary celebration for the Jewish Healing movement.
