Electronic information has become the primary way that we document our business processes today," said John Mancini, president of AIIM. At the same time, governments and courts at all levels are making increasing demands for the trustworthiness, accuracy, and reliability of electronic information. Most organizations have not recognized the scope of the change that has occurred, and are thus facing cascading risk within their firms. With this survey we intend to determine the degree to which companies are addressing this important issue, and to provide solid research findings that can aid firms in implementing an Information Management Compliance program within their own organization."
With this new research initiative, AIIM and KCI continue their collaborative efforts to educate senior management and organizations on the pitfalls and rewards of Information Management Compliance. AIIM and Kahn Consultings most recent effort is the release of Information Nation: Seven Keys to Information Management Compliance.
Information Nation examines the high-profile business failures and court cases of the past few years to demonstrate how the tools and principles of the compliance world need to be applied to Information Management. In addition, the book provides a seven-step methodology for assessing and improving an organization's approach to information management.
