LONDON (PRWEB) April 22, 2004 --- Noteworthy Californian artist Scott West will be showing paintings from his 2003-2004 U. S. Island Show" at WEAVE (Women Against Violent Environments) in Sacramento, California on May 8th, 2004. WEAVE is located on 20th Street near I Street in Sacramento and Wests May show coincides with Sacramentos Second Saturday Art Walk, a monthly art event with live music and spirits, where Sacramento galleries stay open until 10 PM or later. West cites "WEAVE" as a very important charity that helps those most in need.
West is famous for his Californian seascapes, romantic renderings, captivating abstracts and poignant portraits. West first gained international notoriety with his well-known-romantic painting, Flower In The Station," in 1991, but has an oeuvré that successfully spans many different styles and mediums. West followed with his multi-layered Boy In The Sky" to solidify his notoriety as an innovative force in American art. Over the following decade West experimented with both abstract and detailed approaches to his subjects that range from his starkly conceptual Kandinskys Triangle" and House Of Alberti" to his more refined Jars Of Yantra" and Curious." Wests eclectic flexibility allows his subject matter to dictate his form and approach. When asked about his varying use of form, West remarked, I try to do each painting as a separate expression, without regard for its continuity with my previous work or the work of others. I do not worry about how each painting fits within my precepts or those of others. Im more concerned with capturing the essence of each subject with the style that best accomplishes this."
Wests paintings are fresh, enchanting, unique and seem to capture the essence of life in a way that we havent seen from the Americans since Norman Rockwell. While galleries in London, Paris and Berlin are less familiar with West's work than those in the U.S., West has a universal approach that speaks to the essence of humanity.
