Legacy Gallery of Hot Springs to Host Preview Party Celebrating Arkansas Premiere of Off-Broadway Hit

Poster Signing of New Show Artwork by Renowned Artist Carole Katchen

Hot Springs, AR (PRWEB) April 22, 2004 -- The Arkansas premiere of the Off-Broadway hit Menopause The Musical comes to Hot Springs Civic and Convention Center for three performances only, May 15 & 16. In celebration, Legacy Gallery, 804 Central Ave., will host preview party and poster-signing of new artwork on Friday, May 14 from 6 -- 9 p.m.

Menopause The Musical, written and produced by former Hot Springs resident, Jeanie Linders, is a celebration of women and The Change. Sung to 28 relyricized baby-boomer songs from the '60s and '70s, it has women dancing in the aisles (and on stage!) as they form a sisterhood from all the changes they go through during that time in their lives. The show has been a phenomenal success by virtue of a grass roots approach to word-of-mouth enthusiasm. It celebrated its third-year anniversary in March and is still going strong in a dozen cities across the U.S. It is soon to open in SE Asia as well as being translated to Hebrew for a run in Israel. A percentage of proceeds from the three shows in Hot Springs will be given to the city to help fund its public arts program.

TOC Productions Inc, the production company headed by Ms. Linders, will be bringing the Orlando, Fla., cast for the three performances in Hot Springs. Ms. Linders and the cast will be on hand at the Legacy Gallery reception. Orlando cast members are Pammie OBannon (Earth Mother), Shelley Browne (Power Woman), Sandy DeWoody (Iowa Housewife) and Tricia Matthews and Wesley Williams (Soap Stars) will be available for poster-signing as well as to lead a sing-a-long of some of the shows songs. CDs and posters will be available for purchase.

Hot Springs resident and official artist for Menopause The Musical, Carole Katchen, designed a special commemorative poster reflecting the baths as a favorite destination of Spa City." Katchen will be on hand at the Legacy reception. In addition," says Beth Gipe, Legacy Gallery owner, we will have more of Ms. Katchens work on display throughout the gallery."

Ticket information and purchase for Menopause The Musical available by calling Ticketmaster at 501.321.1919. For more information on the reception at Legacy Gallery, please call Beth Gipe at 501.624.1044 ext. 117.
