StoneApple to play on Mitch Albom Show

Detroit, MI... The newest addition to the Motor City's lineup of hot artists to emerge from Michigan, the critically acclaimed rock/funk band StoneApple, will be the musical guests on the nationally syndicated radio program The Mitch Albom Show" in Detroit, Michigan on Monday, May 17. The band is scheduled to play at Paychecks Lounge in Hamtramck, MI and the New Way Bar in Ferndale, MI in the following weeks.

Detroil, MI (PRWEB) April 22, 2004 --The Detroit music explosion continues with yet another new magnificent offering from the area, a wonderful rock/funk mix that is different yet unexplainably familiar. Intelligent lyrics and well-structured songs make this band rise above the pack. A refreshing change from the latest trends, these musicians have perfected their craft under the radar, for a fresh new sound that is guaranteed to please the most discerning critics, and challenge many of the established norms.

Billion Watts vocal style is reminiscent of a young Robert Plant mixed with Paul Rogers. He also plays lead guitar, and is co-writer in the band with Jeff Koch, who is on bass, and sometimes guitar in the band. Jeff's bass style is a funky groove in the likes of Bootsy Collins, Flea, and Les Claypool. Steve Liles is rock steady on drums and additional percussion, to pound out the rhythms and create a tight sonic spectrum for the songs to shine. Marc Marcolina adds his brilliant keyboards, with horns, piano, organ, and synth, and also plays guitar in the band. Jerry Pavia plays guitar, keys, backing vocals, and occasionally bass, rounding out the sound for a fantastic mix.
