New webmaster toolset adds extensive analysis features to Internet Explorer

The new Paessler Site Inspector released today by Paessler GmbH offers a one-stop analysis tool providing a variety of data about a Web site, now accumulated in one place. The data, previously hard to uncover or collected from scattered places around the Web, helps experienced webmasters and web developers to debug and analyze Web sites or Web pages. Paessler Site Inspector, based in part on Paessler IE Booster, gives both advanced Web users and novices a chance to take a peek behind the scenes of the World Wide Web.

"Accessing the sources and secrets of a Web page has never been easier or faster," says Dirk Paessler, CEO of Paessler GmbH. "With Site Inspector, we have pulled together detailed analysis techniques and selected online resources into a single tool and plugged that into an application already running on your desktop, Internet Explorer®."

Site Inspector adds a toolbar and several new menu items to the context menu of Internet Explorer. Through the toolbar and the context menu items, a large number of analysis functions are available providing a look behind the technology and structure of a Web page and supplying extensive background information about the current Web site.

There are analysis features for all aspects of a Webpage, e.g. HTML code, images, forms and scripts. Functions to confirm links and HTML validity of a page as well as performance checks are included. Even the owner of the domain or the Web site's current global traffic ranking can be accessed -- all from inside one familiar application, Internet Explorer.

Key Site Inspector features include:

•Lists of all forms and images available in the viewed Web page, including usually hidden information such as the images' file sizes, URLs and dimensions.

•Lists of all scripts, hyperlink URLs and style sheets of the viewed Web page.

•Displayed http-header information, including status code, server information, content type and showing structured source based on the Document Object Model.

•Highlighting of HTML elements by adding colored borders around each object to discover a Web page's structure

•Advanced copy functionality for URLs, page titles, page titles as tags, source code, hyperlinks, and expanded functionality using the integrated Copy Meister.

Paessler Site Inspector requires Windows 95, 98, ME, NT, 2000, XP or 2003 and Internet Explorer 5.5, 6 or later. For a complete features list, please see http://www.paessler.com/psi/features
