Birmingham, AL (PRWEB) April 24, 2004 --On May 1st, RQR&T Entertainment will bring some of the nations best comediennes together on one stage for a night of side-splitting splurges at The Magic City Comedy Explosion. Roy Wood of 95.7 JAMZ will host the highly-anticipated laugh-apalooza, featuring Birminghams own:
SIR WALT -- He is known as Birminghams funniest comedian and is currently off the Queens of Comedy Tour. He has been doing comedy in Birmingham and across the nation for the past seven years. Hes the only comic from Birmingham who has appeared on BETs Comic view for the past four years. Sir Walt has written material for Birminghams own, Rickey Smiley, Tuscaloosas own, Steven Brown, Atlantas own, Bruce Bruce and other top comedians in the industry. He has an upcoming comedy tour this fall and will also star in the upcoming comedy show called "Comedy Unlimited" which will tour Birmingham and other cities.
CED DELANEY -- He has set ablaze the comic scene with the funniest material you have ever heard. You can catch Ced all over the Southeast packing college campus auditoriums and at some of the hottest comedy clubs in the country. Many say this comedian is the next big comedian coming out of Birmingham, Alabama and we believe it because he is sooooo crazy!
D. T. OWENS -- He started performing stand-up comedy while a sophomore in college (hint: educated). After receiving a "degree in Criminal Justice", DT decided he would pursue his lifes purpose of fighting crime, social injustice, and equality... through laughter... "and it wasnt because of the 2.1 GPA." Being from Birmingham, Alabama has enabled DT to tap into his southern roots not only for comedy but inspiration. DTs material has universal appeal. His storied jokes about his grandmothers peppermint or the way she traumatized him with Vicks vapor rub will tickle any audience.
MARVIN LEE -- He is a high energy, good natured, down to earth smart aleck with a hidden dark side. He talks about everything from his multi-cultural family to the downfall of the Saturday morning cartoon. In doing so, Marvin takes familiar subjects and twists them to his style. He was a comic personality for the morning radio show for the WMJJ Magic 96.5 Rob & Shannon Show and WENN Radio Station Programming Coordinator, an on-air talent.
The Magic City Comedy Explosion, which will open with Neo-soul/R&B recording artist, Rhapsody Blue, will be held at The Pyramid Event Center, located at 400 2nd Ave. N. Birmingham, AL 35203 (the corner of 4th St and 2nd Ave. N). Advance tickets are $15 and are available at NuWear Mens Fashions-Fairfield, and all Music 'N More locations.
