Renowned NYC Songwriter/Record Producer RITCHIE CORDELL Dead At 61

Ritchie Cordell, born Richard Joel Rosenblatt, Brooklyn, NY, March 10, 1943, died on April 13, 2004 at age 61 from pancreatic cancer. Ritchie is survived by his wife Helaina Bruno, mother and father, Evelyn & Harry, sister Ronni and neice Zoe.

(PRWEB) April 24, 2004 --The New York native songwriter/record producer Ritchie Cordell leaves a legacy of hit songs and recordings including such works as "I THINK WE'RE ALONE NOW", "MONY MONY", "GIMME GIMME GOOD LOVIN'", "INDIAN GIVER", "I WANT CANDY", "I LOVE ROCK & ROLL" and "BAD REPUTATION" etc. Over the years, Ritchie worked with numerous artists including Tommy James, Joan Jett, Bow Wow Wow, Ohio Express, 1910 Fruitgum Company, Crazy Elephant and the Ramones etc..

Ritchie holds the rare distinction (shared only with the Beatles) of having two of his songs (already million sellers years before) - "I Think We're Alone Now" sung by Billy Idol and "MONY MONY" sung by Tiffany - follow one another in the #1 & # 2 positions in Billboard, and the next week reverse positions.

Ritchie Cordell will be sincerely missed by his dear friends, family and his colleagues in the music industry. We are grateful to him for leaving us his beautiful music...
