Florida's sixth largest municipal utility recognized for annual reports, conservation calendar.

KISSIMMEE, FL (PRWEB) April 24, 2004 --Kissimmee Utility Authority (KUA) took home four awards in tonight's 2004 Image Awards, an annual competition sponsored by the Orlando Area Chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association.
Image Awards are given to companies that exhibit and employ comprehensive public relations projects that meet the highest standards of excellence in four components of PR programming: research, planning, execution and evaluation. Winning entries must meet the highest standards of performance in the profession.
A Grand Image Award is given to the top scoring entry in one of three divisions, an Image Award is the highest level of award in an individual category and an Award of Distinction meets the judges' standard of excellence.
In the annual report category, KUA received an Image Award for its 2003 annual report. The report -- titled "On" -- featured a financial summary of 2003 as well as a narrative on the many ways electricity impacts our daily lives.
KUA's 2002 annual report -- titled "The Power of U" -- earned an Award of Distinction. The report featured interviews and photos of community leaders and area business owners as well as the year's financial summary.
In the poster/calendar category, KUA received the Grand Image Award for Printed Tools and an Image Award for its 2004 calendar of energy conservation. The calendar delivers conservation messages using the artwork of Osceola County elementary students.
KUA has earned 153 local, state, national and international communication awards for public relations programs, events and publications since 1995.
Founded in 1901, KUA is Florida's sixth largest community-owned utility providing electric, water, and telecommunication services to 170,000 residents in five Central Florida counties.
