In his talk, Blackwood will present information about new solutions that can be used to accomplish both objectives. One of those solutions is the development of a novel silicon-modified organic material set for performance coating. This coating technology offers the synergistic performance characteristics of both silicone and organic components in a single textile coating material. Key attributes include film formation at a low coat weight as well as the environmental friendliness and ease of use of a one-part water-based emulsion formulation. Another solution is the development and implementation of a sealing system for sealing sewn seams that is an alternative to OPW technology.
