Progressive Art Gallery at The Well Hosts Opening Reception

The Well, the New York based post-production boutique, recently hosted the opening of their latest in-house art exhibition to members of the creative, advertising and art community.

New York, NY (PRWEB) April 26, 2004 ---The Well, the New York based post-production boutique, recently hosted the opening of their latest in-house art exhibition to members of the creative, advertising and art community. The Progressive Art Gallery at The Well, is currently featuring painters Agnes Sioda, Lo A Mansson and sculptor Leonid Filitsyan.

The reception is a great way for the advertising community to meet, mingle and become inspired by members of the traditional art world. We opened our doors to clients, friends and artists, knowing we could all benefit from one another," says partner Eric Horowitz. Curator Lucy Stylianou agrees that film and art most definitely influence one another and that the reception is a relaxing and comfortable environment to view the artwork and get to know the editors and the artists. Well over one hundred people attended the opening, enjoying cocktails, music and art while the Wells partners Eric Horowitz, Gary Hernandez, Joe McKay and Bob Friedrich played hosts to all that attended.

The oils on canvas are simple yet intriguing images of spirals, circles and half-shapes. Both painters have the ability of creating a fraction of mere suggestion. According to Artist Agnes Sioda If people often recognize water, air, earth or fire in my paintings, its because every creature is essentially made out of those elements. Its just the mixture that changes." Sioda has exhibited her work at various galleries in Paris and around Germany. Swedish artist Lo A Mansson is strongly inspired by nature -- a foundation not only in her artwork but in her everyday life as well. She lives with her family on a small island in the Baltic Sea, 90 km north of Stockholm. Sculptures by Russian artist Leonid Filitsyan represent various forms of the human body. He sees the human body as a skin bag, full of stones, which is evident in his angular and bold creations.

The exhibition, Descending Upon the Circle of Angels and All of Us" runs from April 22nd through June 3rd. Progressive Art Gallery at The Well is located at 85 Fifth Avenue, 5th floor. For an appointment or information about the work, visit www.progressive-art-ls.com or phone 917-647-1725.
