Abstract artist Steven Kleindorfer exhibit in Long Beach, CA. Closing Reception May 1, 2004.
(PRWEB) April 27, 2004 --Steven Kleindorfer Closing Reception May 1, 2004
"Instead of depicting objects, Kleindorfer creates swooping patterns of vibrant color and shapes that form large, abstract expressionistic compositions. Overlapping and swirling through space, his non-descriptive forms dance across the canvas woth highly charged energy and spontaneity. It's the physical act of painting that is the subject of his work", writes Shirle Gottlieb of the Long Beach Press Telegram.
Kleindorfer's work is most influenced by the New York School of Abstract Expressionism of the 1940's and 1050's. Namely Willem De Kooning, Jackson Pollock, and Mark Rothko. Kleindorfer is also inspired by Kandinsky, Henry Miller, graffiti art, and music.
Steven began drawing at an early age, and started working with acylics and oil paints in high school. He earned a B.F.A. degree in studio art from Indiana Univeristy's prestigious John Herron School of Art, where he studied with William Berkshire and Steven Manheimer. Steven Kleindorfer has llived in Long Beach, CA since 1997.
