He shocked Network Marketers yesterday at his home outside Yosemite when he started a conference by announcing the death of Email Marketing. Some thought it was a ploy to get media attention, however, Tinney then went on to detail how the traditional methods of marketing on the Internet are simply not pulling the same results.
He said he was disappointed in the recent Can-Spam legislation, saying that it only provided clear instructions to spammers that can now spam with no liability by simply placing a mailing address at the bottom of their email.
He explained how Howard Dean had collected email addresses on the internet to launch his campaign. And that Howard Dean's success with spamming will only drive more poeple to use the same tactics.
Tinney said the key to survival in the next few years will be creating large comminutes of people, whether on a newsletter or in an online forum or discussion board.
