John Howard Jr. has won Legalball.com's "Want to be a Published Sports Writer" contest.

John Howard Jr., a freshman at Berkeley High School in Berkeley, California, has won Legalball.com's "Want to be a Published Sports Writer" contest.

(PRWEB) April 27, 2004 --In a close decision made among many entrants, Keith Dobkowski of Legalball.com is happy to announce that John Howard Jr. has won the May, 2004 "Want to be a Published Sports Writer" contest.

Every month, Legalball.com asks it readers to writer an article on sports, specifically critiquing issues in sports.

John Howard Jr. piece takes a indepth look into media bias towards Iron Mike Tyson. Howard Jr's belief is that Tyson is depicted by the media to be an animal and that focus on Tyson's upbringing is often ignored.

Howard Jr. is quick to point out the errors many make when confronted by the media including other athletes and even President George W. Bush.

Keith Dobkowski and Legalball are thrilled that their first winner is a high school student. Dobkowski stated, "John Howard Jr's future is bright and his knowledge is great. It is amazing that a 15 year old can offer such insight and do so in a clear and concise manner. I've got a feeling that ten years from now we will be reading John's work in a major publication. Further, legalball is estatic to be able to help high school student live the dream of sports writing."

Legalball hopes to encourage more high school students to enter the contest and live the dream of being a published sports writer. Just ask John, who is excited as can be to be published at the young age of 15.
