Los Angeles, CA (PRWEB) April 28, 2004 -– Darren Sharper of the Green Bay Packers is proud to announce the 2nd Annual Darren Sharper Golf Open (DSO) will be held on July 18, 2004. Money raised at this event will benefit the Sharper Kids Foundation. The Sharper Kids Foundation was established by Green Bay Packers' Safety Darren Sharper and Houston Texans Linebacker Jamie Sharper to help improve the quality of life for disadvantaged children. The Foundation awards grants to 501(c)(3) charitable organizations and creates programs that enhance children's lives and provide for continuing education.
In it’s first year, the Darren Sharper Open raised $30,000 for the Sharper Kids Foundation and featured players from the Packers, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Steelers, Colts, Texans and Jets. Each player has already made a commitment to return for the 2nd Annual Darren Sharper Open.
This year the 2-day event will kick off with a red carpet Meet and Greet at the Potawatomi Casino located in Milwaukee, and will feature a performance by Morris Day & The Time. The golf tournament will be held at the spectacular Silver Springs Country Club, recently awarded 3½ stars by Golf Digest. Celebrity participants will have the opportunity to win a minimum of $5,000 for the charity of their choice and the chance to promote their charity on air. The event will be taped and broadcast on Time Warner Cable.
