Superdeafy and John "Leno" Maucere are appearing in Indianapolis for several shows at the Indiana School for the Deaf and at the DeafNation Expo.

John "Leno" Maucere and Superdeafy will be making a special appearance at the Indiana School for the Deaf and the DeafNation Expo in Indianapolis during the weekend of May 1.

The John "Leno" Maucere show will feature guest stars Joel Barish, CEO of DeafNation, along with Bradley Gantt and Micaela Paulone, Mr./Ms. Deaf Teen America 2004. The show, sponsored by Sprint, features actor, comedian and entertainer John Maucere as a talk show host and Paul Maucere as sidekick. The event will be held on Friday, April 30 at 7:30 p.m. at the Indiana School for the Deaf Alumni Hall Auditorium, and admission is free with a ticket. Tickets may be obtained by e-mailing Greg Gantt at greg.gantt@mail.sprint.com.

On Saturday, May 1, John "Leno" Maucere and Superdeafy both will be appearing at the DeafNation Expo, held at the state fairgrounds in Indianapolis. Superdeafy (John Maucere), a deaf superhero who flies, stumbles and slides to people's rescue, strives to educate people about Deaf culture and the importance of good triumphing over evil by battling the evil Witchy (Vae). Also seen roaming the exhibits will be John "Leno," who will be meeting with attendees and quizzing them on various topics for his "JohnWalk" segment.

"Both of our shows promote deaf culture, pride and heritage," Maucere said. "Hearing people will enjoy the shows, especially because they will see what Deaf culture is all about. The shows are especially perfect for those who are in Deaf Studies or taking American Sign Language courses."

Tina Jo Breindel, of Riverside, Calif., agrees wholeheartedly. She brought her Deaf son to watch Deafywood at the recent DeafNation Expo in Ponoma, Calif., and said, "Their performance is just the spot you wouldn't mind getting caught on. They're funny. They're history. They're the best introduction to Deaf America!"
