MAGDRL is committed to helping abandoned, neglected and/or abused Danes find forever homes. With over 350 volunteers and serving seven states of the Mid-Atlantic region (NY, NJ, PA, MD, DE, VA, DC, WV, NC, and SC ), they provide the means to spay/neuter, necessary medical treatment and train/socialize the Danes in their care to ensure adaptability in their new homes.
One of the most common reasons for surrendering a Great Dane is its size. Owners often claim that they didn't realize how big the puppy would get when full-grown. At any given time, we have between 70-90 Danes available.
Their volunteers also educate the public and potential owners about caring for this wonderful breed through various community efforts. They are a DC corporation and has a charitable tax-exemption under code 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. MAGDRL is staffed completely by volunteers. Therefore, 100% of the funds donated goes to helping our Great Danes.
