SUFFERN, NY (PRWEB) April 30, 2004 -- General Patent Corporation International (GPCI) announced an important milestone in its patent enforcement campaign on behalf of Acticon Technologies LLC (Acticon). GPCI recently granted the 100th license under Acticons portfolio of smart connector" patents. Communication Automation Corporation of West Chester, Pennsylvania took a license under U.S. Patent No. 4,972,470 (Programmable Connector) for its specialty line of PC Cards. GPCI, a leading contingency patent licensing and enforcement firm headquartered in Suffern, New York, represented Acticon in all 100 licensing transactions.

I am absolutely amazed at the success of these patents," said Steven Farago, Ph.D., the inventor of the Acticon smart connector" technology. Back in 1996, I wouldnt have thought it was possible to license 100 companies. But General Patent has been wonderful. They have left no stone unturned in enforcing the Acticon patents."

Acticons patents cover specific aspects of smart connector" devices used in mobile computer communication, networking, and instrumentation control. GPCI has successfully represented Acticon in 22 litigations related to these patents.

The remarkable success of this patent licensing and enforcement campaign is a testimony to the overwhelming acceptance of the Acticon 'smart connector patents as a de facto industry standard," said Alexander Poltorak, GPCIs Chairman and CEO. We heartily congratulate the inventor, Dr. Farago."
