New Website Unites Land Surveyors & Other Geospatial Professionals

A new site on the World Wide Web enables land surveyors - and related professionals - to exchange dialog and stay informed of the latest information on the Internet. The website, found at http://www.bobplumb.com on the World Wide Web, provides a meeting place for land surveyors and those interested in, or related to, land surveying.

Dubuque, IA (PRWEB) April 30, 2004 --The site, which has already become the home page of many land surveyors worldwide, provides resources to land surveyors in the form of peer-to-peer discussion forums, live chat, informative news articles, employment listings, marketplace, events calendar and much more.

Registration is free and members, once registered, receive access to all the features of the site. Users can use the advanced search feature of the site to find exactly what they are looking for. The site is maintained constantly by a staff of Administrators and Moderators, keeping an overall professional decorum while maintaining a comfortable place for surveyors to meet and exchange information.

The Bob Plumb character is a fictional land surveyor originally created by Deward K. Bowles, a self-employed Professional Land Surveyor from Houston, Texas - and a partner in Bob Plumb, Inc. Bowles writes episodes of telephone dialog between his character and clients or representatives thereof, based upon his own real-life experiences.

The humorous episodes were very well received and touched the hearts land of surveyors, which prompted Wendell T. Harness, a Professional Land Surveyor and moonlighting cartoonist from Tucson, Arizona to bring the character to life.

The collaboration of ideas came together when Greg Yoko, Editor of Land Development Today approached Bowles and Harness in an effort to bring Bob Plumb to life as a prominent figure for surveyors to look up to - and laugh with.

Only a few months old, BobPlumb.com has already garnered over 445 registrants with an overwhelming amount of positive and encouraging feedback.

Weve only just begun," explains Harness. "Over the past four months we have received numerous requests from those in the surveying profession on site enhancements that would be beneficial to them. In addition, we have had a number of comments from the general public that would like a sole source to provide information on surveys and the profession. We intend to develop BobPlumb.com into the ultimate portal on the issues and information related to professional land surveys."

Bob Plumb, Inc. welcomes article submissions. For more information, contact Wendell T. Harness at (520) 270-9423 (wendell@bobplumb.com).
