International Advisory Council to Guide Convergence Standards for Technology Industry-Jeff Myers Elected

The high tech industry seems to breed complexity. Thousands of companies all over the world are constantly inventing hardware, software and components, making the issue of inter-operability is a critical one. A Denver, CO executive has been elected to an Advisory Council addressing this issue.

Denver, CO (PRWEB) April 30, 2004 --The high technology industry seems to breed complexity. With literally tens of thousands of companies worldwide inventing hardware, software and components, the issue of inter-operability is a critical one. When different elements dont work together it is not only frustrating for users, it has a negative impact on productivity and profit. Add to this the current shift to converged voice and data technologies into Voice-over Internet Protocol (VOiP), and the need for common standards and interoperability becomes clear.

Jeff Myers, the Vice President of Sales at Denver-based Axess Communications, was recently elected to the Advisory Board of CompTIA (the Computing Technology Industry Association) - an international organization whose mission is to encourage manufacturers to create technologies that work together, as well as to establish educational standards and promote growth in the computing industry.

The new ten-member Advisory Council will lead CompTIAs CT (Convergent Technologies) Pioneers Section. Association Chairman Alan Borck said council members have been chosen To represent a broad cross-section of companies that are on the front lines of implementing convergent technologies in a variety of business and industry environments. They have vast experience", says Borck, and will provide strong guidance for the industry as it develops." Other council members represent companies such as Avaya, Intel, Catalyst Telecom and ScanSource.
