Telephony & Speech Company Singled Out For Technological Vision, Excellence and Economic Impact
Ottawa, Canada (PRWEB) May 3, 2004 --Pronexus Inc., a leading provider of computer telephony and speech software solutions, today announced that it has won the Innovation of the Year Award for 2004.
The award, sponsored by the Canadian Advanced Technology Alliance (CATAAlliance) & National Research Council (NRC)s Regional Innovation Forum, was presented during the Canadian Innovation Awards ceremony held at The Smart City Summit.
The award is presented to an organization in recognition of the recent launch of an innovative new product and its impact on the National Capital Region. Impact was measured in economic terms, such as sales, exports and job creation.
Pronexus is the developer of VBVoice, a comprehensive and flexible telephony toolkit, used by thousands of developers around the world to create business critical Computer Telephony and speech solutions. VBVoice is the only telephony development environment that leverages the Microsoft Visual Studio .NET platform. This allows users to take advantage of existing technology platforms, leverage in-house programming skills, and use familiar debugging tools -- all integrated in one environment.
VBVoice users can rapidly create scalable, robust and extensible communications solutions for a wide variety of applications. Mainstream Software, a service management software firm, has used VBVoice to seamlessly integrate fax and Interactive Voice Response (IVR) modules into its existing product, CrossForm. VBVoice was instrumental in our ability to meet customer needs with one integrated solution," commented Peter Wallace, President of Mainstream Software. It has helped us win over new customers and make strides into new industries."
Innovation is about positioning the National Capital Region as the source of products the world seeks to buy, resulting in jobs, growth and a higher quality of life for all. Pronexus fits that description perfectly", said Arvind Chhatbar, Executive Director of the Regional Innovation Forum and Director of NRCs Regional Innovation Centre. It turned visions and ideas into products and successfully contributed to the regions knowledge-based economy by attracting customers from around the world."
CATAAlliance is Canada's leading, most influential and entrepreneurial technology alliance, committed to growing the global competitiveness of its members. The NRC is the Government of Canada's premier organization for research and development. The Regional Innovation Forum was established by NRC in 1996 to remove barriers to innovation in the region and to recognize the spirit of innovation.
"We are honoured that Pronexus has been recognized for its technological and business efforts by such prestigious institutions as CATA and the NRC," commented Gary T. Hannah, President and CEO of Pronexus Inc.
