New Recreational & Entertainment Facility Promises Charlotte Business Owners & Residents a BIGGER, Richer Life

This "learn it on Tuesday, use it on Wednesday" teaching concept permits area businesses and experts to introduce short bursts of information on a variety of topics to inspire, motivate and deliver new ideas to those who want to experience accelerated personal and/or business growth.

Charlotte, NC (PRWEB) May 2, 2004 --If you’re thinking about a career change but not sure what you want to do; want to learn to network better, throw a great party, grow vegetables, stop smoking or overeating, apply makeup like the stars, remember names, play a better game of poker or golf, become more spiritual, learn to sing karaoke, meet the right mate, or make more money, FREEDOM University may be just what you’re looking for. And that’s just on Tuesdays!

“Learn it on Tuesday, use it on Wednesday” is the aim of FREEDOM University, “the classroom without walls”, according to its founders, Marcia “STARR” Lambert, Terri Grauer and Deb Peterson, the entrepreneurial trio behind this continuing education facility, recently opened at the Charlotte Merchandise Mart's Freedom Hall.

“There are many people who want to get some new ideas, grow spiritually or develop new friendships or personal relationships, but just don’t know where to start” remarks Lambert, “Chief Cheerleader” for Living LARGE-Now!”, a personal growth company, and one of the founders of FREEDOM University. “We’re connecting area business owners and experts with their audiences by arranging for them to showcase their talent and expertise. They will offer mini-workshops or courses, usually 2-3 hours in length, that give their participants enough information to comfortably enjoy learning something new. “I don’t think the average individual wants several months’ worth of training; they just want enough information to use right away or to just have some fun and make some new friends.”

Lambert, an internationally recognized image coach and customer service trainer, goes on to say that after she wrote her book, Living LARGE – Now! enjoying a juicy life every day”, she was frustrated that all she could do was TELL others how to live a bigger, more satisfying life. She remembered her own experience at the popular Seattle, Washington-based Discover U, the prototype for FREEDOM University, where she explored at least a dozen different lifestyle and career possibilities 10 years ago as she was developing her own business and personal style. She vowed to one day open a center that taught the same kind of classes that would show, not just tell, others how to be happy and fulfilled. She met Terri Grauer, corporate trainer and owner of Auer Solutions, through eWomen Network, a national women’s business networking organization, and the two became friends. Terri showed STARR two floors of the facility located in the building next door to her offices at the Office Tower of the Charlotte Merchadise Mart - Freedom Hall. "Here it is," she said, "Living LARGE-Now! University!" Opting, instead, to call their joint venture FREEDOM University, after its obvious namesake, and because both of them value freedom as a major component of happiness, they put their heads together to come up with classes that would be informative, fun, inspiring and motivating. So, just a few years ahead of schedule, the first FREEDOM University course was rolled out in April with a class called “The Power of REAL Networking” since they are both seasoned networkers. They played to a packed house and rave reviews.

Adding a third partner, Deb Peterson, was a natural, since she is a former bank vice president and entreprenuer with four successful businesses to her credit, who now teaches unique and contemporary money managing skills here in Charlotte. FREEDOM University is now enrolling students for May.

For a nominal course fee, FREEDOM University participants will attend classes held at the FREEDOM University facility, at instructors’ businesses all over Charlotte, and participate in webinars and teleclasses by phone. There will be excursions, parties and events, all of which will be hosted by area merchants and business experts. “This is community thriving in its purist form” says Lambert,” people helping people”. FREEDOM University will act as the promotional conduit to bring people together for personal and business growth by featuring all of the course and event offerings in their catalog, online and through their instructors’ personal marketing efforts. Says Lambert, “By introducing our participants to new skills, new concepts and new friends, all of us build a stronger community. And our area business owners, many of whom are small businesses, will have the opportunity to share their expertise with those who will benefit without paying out huge sums in marketing money. It’s a win-win for everybody!”

FREEDOM University, "the classroom without walls" is an educational, recreational and entertainment concept for inspiring and motivating participants to live a richer, fuller life through learning and relationship-building. Offering corporate and business training packages as well, on or off-site, Freedom University has something to offer on every level.

Classes officially begin May 10th, and enrollment is in full swing. You can apply for membership and enroll in classes by visiting www.Freedom-University.com or by calling 704 342-0071.
