Dickey Betts to Headline Tabfest!

Dickey Betts will be performing at this year's Tabfest held in Mendon, Ohio on July 23rd and 24th. Tabfest is a charitable event that raises money and aluminum can tabs for Ronald McDonald House Charities of Miami Valley.

(PRWEB) May 3, 2004 --The line-up for Tabfest 2004 has been announced. Southern rock legend, Dickey Betts and Great Southern, will lead a stellar line-up July 23rd and 24th at the Mendon Speedway at the Grand Lake Motorcycle Club in Mendon, Ohio. Dickey Betts, a founding member of the Allman Brothers Band, is best known for writing songs like Rambling Man, Blue Sky and In Memory of Elizabeth Reed.

Tabfest is an annual charity concert campout. This is the fifth year the event, which has become one of the largest and best-known festivals of its kind in the region, has featured live music.

Other acts in the line-up include The Shantee, Grasshopper Pie, The One-Eyed Show, Guest, JiMiller Band, Skeleton Crew, Four Ohms, Ritchey Brothers Band, Groovatron, Orquesta Ranura, Burning River Band and JP and the Chatfield Boys. More bands will be announced in the near future.

Members of The One-Eyed Show and Grasshopper Pie partner with event founder Curt Albers in a non-profit organization called the Harmony for Ohio Foundation to organize the annual festival. Event attendees are asked to save aluminum can tabs which are recycled by Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Miami Valley to support operations.

Following a successful event in 2003, event organizers presented a check for $4,500 and over 420 pounds of tabs to Ronald McDonald House Charities of Miami Valley. This contribution raised the total contributions made by the organization over the past 4 years to $12,000, and over 1000 pounds of aluminum tabs. RMHC of the Miami Valley presented organizers of Tabfest with the Heart of the House Award," in 2003 to recognize its support.

Ronald McDonald Houses provide a "home-away-from-home" for the families of seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. Visit www.rmhdayton.org for more information on Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Miami Valley Region.
