When Entertainment Empowers: A Modern-Day Mythopoetic Adventure For 5000

* Paralleling work at Harvard on the Experience Economy, Peak Experience Productions involves 5000 in co-creating The Living Dream Experience festival. * Combining top music acts with performance arts, audience-participatory celebrations and empowering "playshops," the Living Dream Experience empowers participants with a deep sense of meaning. * This year's "Whole In One" theme, based upon leading edge physics and its broad implications, continues the Peak Experience Productions tradition of presenting larger-than-life, modern-day mythic adventures that create powerful, positive social change while providing what many attendees have said is the "time of their lives."

Portland, OR (PRWEB) May 4, 2004 ---Paralleling work at the Harvard Business School on the Experience Economy, Madison House and Peak Experience Productions present festivals on the cutting edge of the new business paradigm. Combining live music and performance arts with audience-participatory celebrations and empowering playshops," the Living Dream Experience (June 17-20, Hornings Hideout, North Plains, OR) will imbue its 5000 participants with a deep sense of meaning.

In their much-praised book The Experience Economy: Work Is Theatre & Every Business a Stage (Boston: Harvard Business School Press, 1999), authors Pine and Gilmore demonstrate how companies across a myriad of industries are now embracing theatre as an operating model and staging unique, memorable experiences as their economic offerings.

Giving customers a direct, personal, and moving experience is nothing new to Johnny Dwork, Founder & Creative Director of Peak Experience, and 25-year veteran of cutting-edge event production: In these deeply troubling times, so many of us search for ways to make the world a saner, more joyous and peaceful place; to find some deeper meaning in life and to cultivate substantive connections with others. By combining audience participation in the creation of our events with music, mythic theater and educational activities, we offer opportunities to be part of a uniquely empowering celebration."

Recognizing the power of such celebrations to foster change and develop fan loyalty has resulted in numerous collaborations between Peak Experience and returning headline act The String Cheese Incident. Carlton Ward, formerly of Dallas, Texas convinced his employer to transfer him to their Portland office after his first Peak Experience/String Cheese Incident event. I realized that this is the experience I had been looking for at other music festivals. I have the opportunity to help create the event rather than just being an observer." Other musicians appearing at this summers Living Dream Experience will include Spearhead, Sound Tribe Sector 9, and Keller Williams.

Beginning months before The Living Dream Experience, attendees have an opportunity to co-create the event and make substantive connections with one another. Participants from around the world pitch in via the Peak Experience website to design themes, choreography, props and costumes that result in eye-popping mythic theater spectacles performed by and for the entire festival audience.

Event organizers have found that a critical mass of participants in these events walk away inspired to address lifes challenges with a renewed sense of enthusiasm and hope. Angie Layton, of Beaver Creek, Oregon, who brings her two boys, ages 6 and 11 to all of Peaks festivals, says, "These events truly changed my life and the lives of many of my friends. We are participants rather than simply spectators. What we create together is clearly larger, more magical than anything we could do on our own. Every time Ive attended these events, Ive come away with a renewed sense of wonder and optimism about life."

Each Peak Experience festival tackles a different theme based on archetypal and universal wisdom. The theme of this years Living Dream Experience is the Whole In One," based upon the realization that everything in the universe is interconnected - from the sub-atomic to the galactic. Science is now proving that everything in our consensual reality is energetically woven to everything else.

Living Dream Experience attendees will also be able to participate in numerous playshops on subjects ranging from yoga and meditation, to quantum physics and sacred geometry, to cutting-edge political discussion and information networking. Returning world-renowned playshop leaders include physicist Nassim Haremein, futurist John Barlow, shaman Imani and magician Jeff Mcbride.

Peak Experience events are awe-inspiring -- attendees are not there to simply observe, but to participate and create," commented Harvard Law School Fellow, Grateful Dead lyricist, and futurist, John Barlow. They return home energized to be the hero in the movie of their lives. Think of the possibilities when this energy is brought to bear on their family, community, work, government."
