Team USA Football Gladiators to Play Powerhouse Stuttgart Scorpions of the German Football League

Team faces one of its greatest challenges to date -

San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 4, 2004 --On May 10, 2004 Team USA Football Gladiators will leave the United States to begin a week of preparation and practice before its scheduled game on May 15 against the Stuttgart Scorpions of the German Football League.

Members of this team have been selected based on their collegiate playing experience, participation in Minor League All-star games, results of national football combines or by the referral of respected coaches, athletic directors and former players and coaches of the team.

Coaches for this game will be Rudy L. Wyland, Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator, Heinz Puschendorf, Offensive Line Coach, Daniel Miles, Defensive Coordinator and Ryan Dean Ruschhaupt, Linebackers Coach.

The last team from the United States to play the Stuttgart Scorpions was soundly defeated by a score of 62 -- 14. We hope to be far more competitive in this game than the last U.S. team that played here. Were certainly going to approach this game with a great deal of focus and intensity and we do not take this opponent lightly. They play the game too well and are coached by extremely capable men. In fact, the entire organization is very well operated," says Head Coach Rudy Wyland. Coach Wyland was a member of the team defeated in 2002 and played Wide Receiver and Tight End. Coach Miles was the Defensive Coordinator for the Stuttgart Scorpions in that game.

Team USA Gladiators is being supported and sponsored by the United States Army. The team will be housed and will conduct all its practice sessions at Kelley Barracks in Stuttgart. The team will hold its pregame walk-through practice at Waldau Stadium and is open to the public.

The game is being billed as Charity Bowl 2004" and proceeds of the event will benefit the Herzensache Charity for children.
