Peter Li and Rafael Martinez, a private collector of Chinese works of art for 19 years open a gallery on York Avenue in New York City. The items for sale are impressive in style and uniqueness.
(PRWEB) May 6, 2004 -- The pieces on display consist of many early Buddhist sculptures from between the 3rd and 6th century. There is a very fine Guan Yin, the Buddhist goddess of mercy from the Tang Dynasty Period, to an impressive limestone temple guardian from the Song Dynasty period. The collection also features many scrolls, ceramic and jade pieces as well.
Mr. Martinez, who started collecting Chinese works of art from the Li family 19 years ago, says, Our collection must finally be shared with the world so that everyone can appreciate and understand how Chinese history and culture has influenced the world". Mr. Martinez says that through the monthly seminars at their gallery, they hope to bring an understanding and appreciation of Chinese history to the community.
The gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 AM -- 8:00 PM, Sundays from 12:00 PM through 6:00 PM.
