Overnight Success Took 30 Years

Honolulu, HI (PRWEB) May 6, 2004 -- Veteran jazz musician Keith Scott signs a nonexclusive record deal with Eroica Records/Turn On Records for his self-produced debut CD entitled "Waikiki"

Keith was born in York, PA and graduated from Dallastown area High Shool and West Chester University where he won the yearly Downbeat Magazine scholarship to Berklee School of Music in his senior year. A full time musician for more than 25 years, Keith has performed mostly in nightclubs on the Jersey Shore and Florida, calling the Tampa Bay area his home until 2001 when he moved to Hawaii. He has shared the stage with jazz greats like Phil Woods, Michael Brecker, Slide Hyde, and Gabe Baltazar. Keith says,"I can't imagine why I waited so long to record my jazz CD or how I got lucky enough to have it signed for distribution by a great company like Eroica Records, but this is really that much sweeter when it comes later in life."

This diverse collection of tunes is driven by strong, memorable melodies plus Scott's uncanny ability to navigate seamlessly through pop, smooth, and fusion jazz styles while delivering very creative improvisations. Although it's difficult to capture what Keith does live on a CD (he plays the flugelhorn and piano at the same time to the delight of his audiences) the eight original and three classic covers on this album make for a very enjoyable listening experience.

"It never sounds like he's trying to impress you with lot's of notes, but making you feel the power and emotion of the songs through tasteful phrasing and melodic nuances," says DJ Marvin Franklin at K108 Radio, Honolulu.

"In my opinion, Keith Scott is one of the most talented sonwriter/performers I've ever had the pleasure of working with," says record producer David Strattford, "and this CD really shows off his amazing talents."

"Waikiki"(Eroica Records-JDT 3186)is available at www.eroica.com(other genres)and www.turnonrecords.com as well as the kiosks of 13,000 brick and mortar stores internationally and about 90 other legitimate music web sites including Keith's favorite, www.cdbaby.com/kscott.
