Auditions for You Can't Take It With You
June 12 & 13th auditions for a show opening in September at Cultural Park Theatre. We need actors of all ages. All are welcome to try out, regardless of previous stage experience.
(PRWEB) May 7, 2004 -- Auditions are coming June 12 & 13th at Cape Coral's Cultural Park Theatre for You Can't Take It With You. This classic play from the 30's will be the season-opener for the Cultural Park Theatre. Times will be announced shortly...
You Cant Take It With You is a visit with one of the most irrepressible families ever created for the stage -- the Sycamores of Manhattan. Headed by Grandpa Vanderhof, who has spent most of his life avoiding the IRS, this extended family is a completely uninhibited clan whose members simultaneously manufacture fireworks in the cellar, distribute left-wing propaganda in home-made candy, take ballet lessons in the living room, operate printing presses and xylophones, and turn out play after play on a typewriter that is delivered by mistake.
When Alice, the "normal" member of the Sycamore tribe, falls in love with wealthy conservative Tony Kirby, things get, well, interesting. And, when the Kirbys arrive for a dinner date at the Sycamores a day sooner than expected, everything goes awry.
We will need a large variety of actors and actresses of all ages for this show, and we want to hear from you! Come be a part of the 1930's play that inspired some of TV's greatest sitcoms, including Dharma & Greg.
Everyone is welcome and encouraged to try out, even if you've never acted before!
